Last Night was the annual wine fest at the Tampa Theatre, "The Tampa Theatre and the Goblet of Wine", with a Harry Potter theme.  Of course I couldn't pass up the opportunity to work it with Betsy, Roddy, and Jan, so I had to be pretty much all packed before 1:30 yesterday afternoon.  It might have been easier if Cambodia weren't going to be HOT and Japan pretty chilly!!  Of well!  The event was delightful and I got home at a reasonable hour.  Good thing since I had to leave by 8:30 this morning to get to the Kings'.  They are so gracious to let me leave my car in their driveway and then drive me to the airport!!



There is a whole new security area for Terminal E!  Things do seem to move a lot quicker now.

The flight to Atlanta left a few minutes late but arrived twenty minutes early!!  Ginger was coming back from her quilting retreat and hit heavy traffic, so I had time to plow through my email and do a couple of puzzles before she picked me up.


Beverage choices were just coffee, tea, or water!  But there were also chips and Biscoff!


ATL is a cool airport!

We got home in time to make a key lime pie for Randy's birthday dinner tonight!  First we all meet at Lemon Grass for yummy Thai food, then we go to Ben's for game night and pie!  We stop by the house on the way to pick it up.  We play Telestrations, After Dark and laugh til we cry and then play Five, which is also fun but not as laughter-inducing!!  (Ask me when I get home which phrase I had to illustrate! NSFW)

Tomorrow we'll go to Emerson and deliver the magnificent stole that Ginger made for Rev. Christina.  We leave tomorrow night for Siem Reap, Cambodia.

 Tuesday, March 25, 2025 I'm feeling nearly human and consume the convenience store sandwich that Ginger and Sachiko brought home for me last night.  A big step! Sachiko says that she and her friend, Sachiko go out for coffee every Tuesday morning and would we like to do that?  Yep, you bet! More old broads on the town! And we don't even have to walk! Sachiko II has a car and no one has told her that she's not allowed to drive.  It is a treat to avoid the forced march! This old coffee shop hasn't changed since we were here all those years ago and when I make a kind of sign for iced coffee, the counterman grins and remembers me from last week. A lot of important conversations have happened here, I'll bet!  And there's another one today. February 24, 2025 It's been too long since I've been on the road! But the next adventure is on the horizon.  Cambodia and Japan - here we come!! I'll be flying to Atlanta on March 8th to meet Ginger and we'll head across the world the next day.  Come with us and explore the Hindu-Buddhist temple complex of Angkor Wat, and all that Cambodia has to offer.  Then, continue on to Japan to visit Ginger's son and his family in Nagoya.   These beauties grow in Jan's yard!  Queen's Wreath (and now I know the photo link still works! even though it didn't put the photo where I wanted it!)

Going Home

 Wednesday, March 26, 2025 and Thursay, March 27th Well today's the day. We've got everything stuffed into our bags and plan to leave about 9:30 for the long drive to the airport.  Kyoko comes in with two bags of omiagi!  So sweet!  And I don't know where the heck I'm going to put mine!!  Tae comes in right on time and we head outside to find the Ladies Club waiting to say, "Good-bye"!  They are just so adorable!! Sachiko was saving this special cake for our final breakfast! They want me in the photo, too!! Photos and hugs and we all pile into the van (is it an SUV?  I'll never get it straight!) and away we go. At the airport the kids are starving, of course, and so we head to the food court.  Along the way there's a small piano set up for anyone to play and there's a tiny girl really giving it what for!! She's so good!  And there are ninjas above the ticketing counters!!  Ah, but back to the food court where nearly everyone chooses some...
